Nigeria confirms 204 new COVID-19 cases, total rises to 1932

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Thursday night confirmed 204 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the country.

In the highlight of the report posted on the NCDC Twitter handle, Kano recorded 80 COVID-19 cases.

This figure has pushed the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state to 219.

Kano has been in the spotlight for about two weeks now with reports of mysterious mass deaths in the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari has declared a two-week total lockdown of the state in a bid to address the problem.

Other states mentioned in the NCDC report are Lagos (45), Gombe (12), Bauchi (9), Sokoto (9), Borno (7), Edo (7), Rivers (6), and Ogun (6).

Also mentioned are – Abuja (4), Akwa Ibom (4), Bayelsa (4), Kaduna (3), Oyo (2), Delta (2), Nasarawa (2), Ondo (1), and Kebbi (1).

With this figure, Nigeria now has 1,932 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 58 deaths.

However, 319 persons have been discharged from health facilities by experts.

The centre said: “As of 11:50 p.m. 30th April- 1932 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria

“Discharged: 319 AND Deaths: 58.”
